10-12 Months Before Your Wedding {or immediately after engagement if there is a shorter courtship}
- Call everyone to tell them the good news!
- Start thinking of your colors, theme, etc. How do you envision your wedding? Give your wedding a name. "Classy Romantic"
- Set a budget and find out who is paying for what.
- Hire Ashley Troyer Events!!!!
- Select your venues.
- Select date & time. Make sure you have a couple of back up dates just in case the place you really want is not available.
- Book your officiant
- Start a preliminary Guest List
- Choose your attendants, including those that will help with any special readings or songs.
- Meet with the major vendors {photorapher, videographer, caterer, floral designer} and get references or be referred by someone that has used them!
- Shop for your dress and order. Don't forget the veil, gloves, shoes & jewelry. Remember, simple is always pretty.
- Sign your contracts with vendors.
- Start planning your honeymoon. Call a local travel agent to begin looking through destination books.
- Start thinking about bridesmaid dresses.
- Book your reception entertainment.
- Book Transporation.
- Let out of town guests that you are on a final guest list know your final date and time. Sending Save-The-Date cards is a great way to do this.
- Book Cake Designer
- Purchase wedding favors
- Plan Rehearsal Dinnner.
- Reserve Rental Equipment
- Arrange Transportation
- Register for Gifts
- Purchase Wedding Rings
- Purchase Gifts for Attendants
- Purchase Gifts for Eachother
- If you'll need a going away outfit, purchase that.
- Block off hotel rooms for guests in a couple different price ranges
- Book your hotel for the night of the wedding.
- Select attire for groom and groomsmen
- Select and order attire for bridesmaids - be careful with ordering too soon!
- Start skin care regiment and purchase beauty products.
- Make final arrangements with vendors. Menus, must take pictures, music, rehearsal & ceremony. Don't leave this to the last minute.
- Book hair salon or spa & schedule a trial run.
- Book makeup artist.
- Send announcements to local newspapers.
- Complete name change documents
- Attend bridal showers
- Mail invitations
- Apply for marriage license
- Have final fitting
- Meet with attendants to make sure everything is going well with their part.
- Confirm times with vendors.
- Get Program completed.
- Create Guest Hospitality bags for out of town guests.
- Change your address, you can schedule this to happen right after the wedding.
- Get confirmations from Guests that have not sent an RSVP
- Set up seating arrangements
- Give final guest counts to those who need it. {Usually 10 days}
- Break in shoes
- Pick up your dress, make sure you try it on one last time before you leave the bridal shop!
- Attend Bachelorette/Bachelor Party
- Assign tasks to those who are helping with your wedding
- Schedule a spa day or even just a massage! It will help with the stress!
- Pick up last minute items
- Attend Rehearsal & Dinner - Don't forget to give your wedding party their gifts
- Confirm Transportation
- Have fun and enjoy EVERY minute!
